Introduction to the Unit

The GEODE unit is organized around overarching research themes, defined primarily by methodological considerations. While the primary research focus—namely, complex human-environment interactions and socio-environmental dynamics—represents a common denominator for the entire research community that constitutes GEODE, this focus is approached in different ways, through varied conceptual perspectives and methodological approaches.

Three main areas of scientific research :

  • Area 1 : GEOPASSE GEOhistoires, géoarchéologies et PAléoenvironnements : l’apport du paSsé à la compréhension des changements Socio-Environnementaux »
  • Area 2 : DESTER : « Dynamiques et Enjeux Socio-environnementaux des TERritoires »
  • Area 3 : ED2-ECMS : « Environnement et Développement Durable : « Educations à… », Construction et Médiation des Savoirs »
