Sedimentology & Measurement platform

Managers: E. Chapron & M. Philippe - salle 104 (MDR2)

The 65 m2 sedimentology workbench is a central element of the platform. Equipped with central and wall-mounted workbenches and a range of specific equipment (calcination furnace, muffle furnace, drying oven, precision scales, etc.), it is dedicated to sedimentological analyses, as well as to all operations designed to collect or analyze sediment samples (portable XRF, spectrocolorimetry, loss on ignition, etc.).

The room features a “floor” area equipped with a sieving station and a laminar flow chemical hood. It also includes a 24m2 positive cold room (2°C) (room 110) for sample storage and preservation, and a Faraday cage for magnetic susceptibility measurements.
