Research topics

  • Environmental and Sustainable Development Education (ESD), disciplinary foundations, transdisciplinarity, and curricular aspects of ESD;
  • From the pupil’s perspective in the classroom, analysis of teaching/learning situations: scientific debate, debate in ESD, arguing, building complex thinking;
  • Didactics and epistemology of Life and Earth Sciences: relationship to knowledge, field trips from the perspective of teachers and pupils.
     

MAIN RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Analysis of children’s understanding of the dynamics affecting their territory, and of the skills that enable them to take part in debates and decisions that concern them. This involves co‑constructing pedagogical approaches in the field of ESD in order to: :
  • take temporalities into account and articulate past/present/future(s);
  • anchor ESD actions in the local territory, through engagement with its various stakeholders;
  • co‑construct ESD activities with teachers and researchers from the OHM.
Overview of the use of field trips (outings in the “natural” environment) in order to identify the levers and obstacles to their implementation, and to highlight the skills such a tool enables pupils to acquire, so as to clarify its specific contribution.
