Taught academic discipline(s)

Teaching and doctoral supervision :

My teaching responsibilities are within the Geography degree programme: teaching on the first, second and third years in the fields of environment and landscape, and academic methodologies; as well as on the GEP Master’s programme in ‘Environmental and Landscape Geography’ and the VIHATE Master’s programme in ‘City, Habitat and Ecological Transition’; and supervising student placements.

The course topics include: the analysis of landscape dynamics, landscape management and enhancement, geographical methods and tools, cartography, sustainable development, nature in urban areas, the environmental transition, and field surveys.
  • Coordination of various modules at Bachelor’s and Master’s level: Landscape Specialism, Field Surveys, Work Placements, etc.
  • Supervision and coordination of professional placements and research projects for Master’s 1 and 2 students, and co-supervision of four doctoral theses.

Research topics

My research focuses on landscape as a key to understanding the territorial dynamics of peri-urban and peripheral areas, and as a tool for the planning of these evolving spaces.

Landscape is a subject and field of research approached from three perspectives :
  • the interplay between sustainable planning, public policy and the landscape dimension of territories,
  • methodological approaches aimed at deepening our understanding of landscapes, encompassing both physical realities and social representations,
  • the recent emergence of landscape as a new category of territorial resources linked to the living environment, identity and the local economy (CEP).

Specialities :

  • Landscape(s)
  • Public policy, spatial planning and development
  • Biodiversity in peri-urban areas
  • Mediation, consultation
  • France – Brazil
