Alexandra ANGELIAUME-DESCAMPS
Senior LecturerTaught academic discipline(s)
I teach in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment at UT2J, as well as at IPEAT (Multidisciplinary Institute for American Studies), which I joined in 2004.
My teaching focuses largely on environmental issues, from undergraduate to master's level, covering basic knowledge to environmental management tools (GEO101, GEO205, GEO501, GEO601, GEP 704, GEP 903).
They also focus on imparting technical skills specific to geographers through courses in cartography and image processing (GEO102, GEO302, GEO402).
Finally, in close connection with my research activities, I have developed courses related to Latin America (GEP 704, GEP 903, IPEAT EA0R902V).

Resource: "Dynamics and challenges of biodiversity and agrodiversity"
This is a collection of online courses, video resources and bibliographical references on wetland management, based on case studies in Aubrac and Ségala (Aveyron), Armagnac (Gers) and the Toulouse region (Haute-Garonne). Research topics
Historically, since joining the GEODE laboratory in 1999, my work has focused on agricultural land management in southwestern France, soil erosion, irrigation water management, and wetland use, incorporating historical approaches and landscape analyses, as well as analyzing locally implemented agri-environmental policies (MAE, CAP).
Subsequently, I broadened this area of research to include the study of environmental changes and the management of protected areas or areas of ecological interest (NATURA 2000, ENS), particularly wetlands through their restoration and new uses (Gers, Aveyron, Pyrénées Atlantiques) (support for knowledge, management, and enhancement of ponds and wetlands in southwestern France; monitoring of management and restoration practices for ponds and wetlands in southwestern France).
Since 2003, my areas of study have expanded to include Latin America. My involvement in these areas takes the form of research topics on water management, rural areas, resource management in protected areas (national parks, biosphere reserves), management policies for urban water supply areas, payments for ecosystem services, and ecotourism (study of changes in tropical mountains and environmental consequences; analysis of resource management in protected areas, ecosystem services and their payment, conflict and participation processes).
More recently, my work has focused on wetlands through new approaches (remote sensing of the environment, SFN-based solutions, SES ecosystem services, OPSE socio-ecological observatories) and on water management through the development of reuse, water reuse (National Water Plan 2023) (deployment and perception of reuse).Ongoing research project
