« Microscopy Platform Management »

The IFSeM training division, in collaboration with MITI, the Photonic Imaging Network (RTmfm) and the Electron Microscopy Imaging Network (Rime), is organising the “Microscopy Platform Management” advanced training course, which will take place online on 22 June and in person from 29 September to 1 October 2026 in Paris

Training objectives :            

The ANF Management microscopy platform aims to support platform staff, whether in setting up, transferring or formalising their structure. Through face-to-face lectures and small-group tutorials, this training programme offers in-depth knowledge and resources covering all organisational and management aspects. The main topics covered include:

  • governance
  • human resources
  • financial and administrative management
  • training.

Target audience: Platform staff and others (technicians, assistant engineers, engineers, researchers, postdocs, etc.)

Topic: Taphonomy of tools and their wear and tear

The IFSeM Training Centre, in collaboration with MITI and CAIRN, is organising the ANF course ‘Traceology of Pre- and Protohistoric Tools – Module 2: Practical Advanced Training: Theme: Taphonomy of Tools and Their Wear’ from 7 to 11 September 2026 at the Centre Malher (Paris)

Course objectives :
Following the first two advanced training sessions held in 2018 and 2021 on plant processing and ceramic production, this session will focus specifically on issues of taphonomy. The objectives of this course are:

  • Master the fundamentals and observational techniques of multi-material traceological analysis
  • Master the differences in interpretative frameworks applied to various types of materials (flint, rock, bone, shell, pottery, etc.)
  • Taking samples from an archaeological series for traceological analysis
  • Identifying taphonomic biases, existing frameworks and the interpretative limitations they entail
  • Interpreting the results of traceological analysis of archaeological tools

Target audience: Archaeologists, Prehistorians, Protohistorians (DR / CR / IR / IE, including PhD students and postdoctoral researchers on fixed-term contracts)

The IFSeM training department, in collaboration with MITI and the DELOG network, is organising the ANF course ‘Building a complete web application using the Flask framework (Python)’ from 21 to 25 September 2026 in Aussois (73)

Course objective: To build a complete web application using the Flask micro-framework (Python)

Target audience :

  • Software Engineer: Application Developer, Project Manager, etc. (BAP E)
  • Systems and Network Administrator, Database Administrator, Research Officer, etc. (Anyone wishing to build a website to display and manipulate data)

The IFSeM Training Division, in collaboration with CNRS Chemistry and CNRS Physics, is organising the ANF workshop entitled ‘How to structure and showcase your research findings for effective transfer to the socio-economic sector’, to be held in person in Paris from 5 to 7 October 2026

Aims of the training course:

  • Identify technological breakthroughs and innovations
  • Position oneself within the value chain
  • Select the most appropriate transfer pathway
  • Draw up a roadmap to achieve objectives

Target audience:

  • Scientists (researchers, academic researchers, engineers), primarily from the CNRS Chemistry or CNRS Physics divisions
  • Innovation engineers

« Transporting scientific equipment and customs: best practices »

The ANF will take place on 12 June 2026 at the Occitanie Ouest Regional Office in Toulouse

The objectives of this ANF are as follows:  

  • To raise awareness within the scientific community of the customs and administrative issues involved in international logistics.
    To prevent equipment from being held up at customs when crossing borders. Such delays can have serious consequences for research projects.
    To avoid the resulting financial losses (storage costs, customs fines, damage to equipment)

 « Transport of Dangerous Goods​​​​​​​ »

The ANF will take place from 10 June 2026 to 11 June 2026 at the Occitanie Ouest Regional Office in Toulouse

The objectives of this ANF are as follows:  

  •  Understand the key rules governing the transport of your dangerous goods.
  • Identify the roles and responsibilities of each party involved in a shipment or delivery (consignor, carrier, consignee).
  • Classify your samples and products in accordance with road transport regulations (ADR) and be aware of the requirements for air transport (IATA).
  •   Apply the correct procedures for packing, dispatching and receiving goods safely.
  •   Validate the mandatory regulatory training (required by Chapter 1.3 of the ADR) for anyone involved in these operations.

The registration deadline is 11 May 2026.
